DRESS LIKE A GIRL has received another wonderful review, this time from Publishers Weekly. The reviewer had lovely things to say about Lorian Tu-Dean's illustrations, as well as the text by yours truly:
"Tu-Dean captures the joy of dressing up, friendship and discovery in her mixed-media art. Fashion in limitless and fun, Toht suggests - but it's not so much the clothes that matter as the individual underneath."

It's a bit nerve-wracking, waiting for the first review of a new book to come in! Well, Kirkus Reviews had some lovely things to say about DRESS LIKE A GIRL:
"...this book encourages girls to broaden their horizons beyond princesses and fairies."
"The ink-and-watercolor illustrations render lively children against spare backgrounds of rooms throughout the house that adapt to the girls' imaginations."
"A cute reflection of girl-centric playtime, role play, and friendship."
Thank you, Kirkus!
DRESS LIKE A GIRL will be released on January 22, 2019. It is available for pre-order now through IndieBound, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.com.
Here we go! My edits of DRESS LIKE A GIRL are done. Lorian Tu-Dean has worked magic with her brilliant illustrations. Now, it's off to be printed and ready for a January 22, 2019 release. I'm super-excited because the book's birthday is also my birthday - how cool is that?!
Matthew Winner was sweet to host a cover reveal for the book on his website. You can read all about it here.
This may be the only time that I am excitedly awaiting the cold days of January!
